Chris E. Ragano is a third generation Tampa native and the son of prominent attorney Frank Ragano. Frank Ragano was rated one of the top five greatest criminal defense attorneys in history. Chris was born in Miami, Florida and has resided in the Tampa Bay area since 1978. Chris Ragano carries on the family tradition started by his father of helping people by representing them in legal matters – protecting both their families and their rights.

Mr. Ragano practices exclusively in the areas of matrimonial and family law, including trial litigation in all areas of custody disputes and complex financial matters. Mr. Ragano received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law and his Bachelor of Science from Florida State University. He is admitted to practice in the state of Florida and before the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida.

Attorney Chris E. Ragano is a member of the Florida Bar Family Law Section and the Hillsborough County Bar Association Family Law Section where he served as past Chair for the Family Law Section and the Family Law Executive Council Committee. He is also a past Chair of the Executive Committee for the Tampa Family Law Inns of Court.

Mr. Ragano is a frequent speaker and lecturer on contested family law litigation. He has previously lectured for The Florida Bar, the National Business Institute, the Hillsborough County Bar Association (Family Law Section) and Bay Area Legal Services. Such seminars include such topics as Advanced Trial Techniques, Admissibility of Electronic Evidence, Utilizing Expert Witnesses at Trial and Complex Child Custody litigation.

Chris E. Ragano has been featured in the Tampa Tribune discussing the effects of cyber-stalking in contested custody matters. He has written for the Hillsborough County Lawyer Magazine an article titled "The New Parenting Bill: No More Mud Slinging???". This was the first article to discuss the new revisions to the Parenting Bill in Florida. Mr. Ragano provided an overview of how the new Parenting Bill differs from the previous child custody law. Following the release of this article, Mr. Ragano appeared two different times on the local news station Channel 10 to discuss the new Parenting Bill, as well as the recent custody cases that have been litigated under this new law.

As a testament to his craft, Mr. Ragano is the only attorney in the Tampa Bay area to speak at annual seminars geared towards training other practicing attorneys and psychologists on prosecuting and defending all forms of domestic violence injunctions. He is frequently retained by other law firms to step in and handle domestic violence proceedings for their clients. Mr. Ragano was invited to speak at an annual Domestic Violence Task Force Board Meeting to provide updated information on "cyber stalking" as well as domestic violence injunctions.

As a former Public Defender in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit of Hillsborough County, Mr. Ragano has handled thousands of jury and non-jury trials. He was the lead attorney of the “Domestic Violence" unit.  He had perfected his trial skills in this area so much that he was called upon to train other attorneys in the technique for successfully defending false allegations of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual abuse and stalking. Mr. Ragano has been a research consultant for the History Channel and A&E's Biography Channel.  He has appeared in several documentaries including "Mouthpiece Voice of the Accused", "Declassified: Godfathers of Havana" and "Biography: Santo Trafficante."

Mr. Ragano serves in the “of counsel” capacity for other law firms since 2015. In that capacity, Mr. Ragano is frequently called upon to handle litigated cases for other firms in the areas of child custody cases, complex financial matters, and all final hearings/trials.
